"The Holy Ghost Box"

It's still working - So many requests have been answered
It's easy - Just deposit your prayer
and Trust in the Lord

At Little Charity, a very high priority is placed on prayer, knowing how well it works. In fact, we make it part of every service by offering everyone an opportunity to drop their prayer requests into a "Holy Ghost Box".  This unique box is a special prayer box wrapped in heavenly gold paper where anyone can physically place their prayer requests. How simple it is to turn them over to God.  Most people just write their prayer requests on scrap pieces of paper and place their greatest needs and desires in this simple box.  NO ONE ever goes into the box and reads the requests--once in the box they will be tucked away forever in God's heart and will never be touched again.

Before the service begins, a volunteer lays hands on the box and claims victory over all these simple prayer requests that have been placed inside.  It is a very moving time as we witness how faithfully God has answered our requests.   It's amazing to see His hand and how He fulfills the desires of our hearts. No, He doesn't answer every prayer in the way we think He will, but we have seen Him answer the majority of them in ways that are always better.

“APRIL 23, 2010”

April 23, 2010, was (I thought at the time) the worst day of my life. However, it turned out to be the beginning of a new relationship…a brand new walk and understanding with God.

When I heard the news that day that I had Breast Cancer, I thought my world was simply falling apart. But, after the shock and then kindness of a few really close friends, we turned this battle, which Satan tried to put on me, into a victory.

I went through the surgeries and all the chemo treatments. There were good days and bad days, all the while working a part-time job driving an hour and a half each way. And…I must say, “He that is within me is greater than He that is in the world.”

Then, the devil tried to scare me again, when they found a spot on both lungs and the right breast. But…on the way home from work that evening as I got the report, I heard God say to me, “This battle is mine to fight, not yours.” Praise the Lord…I have been cancer free for almost a year and a half now and I am and I will continue to give God all the Praise and Glory for my miracle.  Patricia Reynolds

MAMA'S BIBLE

Four brothers left home for college and they eventually became successful doctors, pharmacists and lawyers...and prosper they did.

Some years later, they chatted after having dinner together. They discussed the gifts they were able to give their elderly mother who lived far away in another city.

The first said, "I had a big house built for Mama."

The second said, "I had a hundred thousand dollar theater built in the house."

The third said, "I had my Mercedes dealer deliver an SL600 to her."

The fourth said, "You know how Mama loved reading the Bible and you know she can't read anymore because she can't see very well.

I met this preacher who told me about a parrot that can recite the entire Bible. It took twenty preachers 12 years to teach him. I had to pledge to contribute $100,000 a year for twenty years to the church, but it was worth it. Mama just has to name the chapter and verse and the parrot will recite it."

The other brothers were impressed.

After the holidays Mom sent out her Thank You notes.

She wrote: "Milton, the house you built is so huge; I live in only one room, but I have to clean the whole house. Thanks anyway."

"Marvin, I am too old to travel. I stay home; I have my groceries delivered, so I never use the Mercedes. The thought was good. Thanks."

"Michael, you gave me an expensive theater with Dolby sound, it could hold 50 people, but all of my friends are dead; I've lost my hearing and I'm nearly blind. I'll never use it. Thank you for the gesture just the same."

"Dearest Bob, you were the only son to have the good sense to give a little thought to your gift.

The chicken was delicious.

Thank you.

Luv Ya, Mama
